The Reading Group is a not-for-profit learning center which specializes in serving children and adults who struggle with learning difficulties. Our staff includes educational specialists in reading, writing, early childhood development, giftedness, and ESL (English as a Second Language). In partnership with teachers, parents and community leaders, The Reading Group works to overcome problems related to learning disabilities, dyslexia and illiteracy. Initial evaluations and one-on-one instruction are available. One hallmark of The Reading Group is the use of individualized, multi-sensory approaches to learning. Students have opportunities to use computers and interactive software. Another distinctive feature is the emphasis on helping each student attain independence. Our highly trained and experienced staff provide individualized instruction for each student’s special needs.

Our mission is to provide specialized reading instruction and basic math instruction to those who struggle with dyslexia and other learning difficulties and to those seeking academic enrichment. We are dedicated to promoting community awareness and support about such learning challenges as well as fostering lifelong literacy.
